My short film teaser - The reverse scene

This is a teaser for my short film that I will be uploading as soon as it is done.
This 'reverse scene' currently has no effect or sound added to it however, I do intend to feature an affect and a heavier 'reverse tape' sound

Music

I feel the software, iMovie has limited my choices for the music featured in my short film.

As my short film was of the horror/thriller genre, obviously I would use scary/spooky/eerie sounds however, iMovie forced me to repeat some of these sounds as there wasn't simply enough variety of music under the genre of horror/thriller.

I used diegetic sounds such as the 'door slamming' as my own camera failed to pick up the natural noise, I actually preferred inserting diegetic sounds as it in my case emphasizes the closing of a scene and opening of another.Another diegetic sound i used was the 'background crowd' sound as it created a realism feel to the scene of when Anisha and Zara are in the public park.

Here is a storyboard I created as a rough sketch to show how I intend  my short film to be like.

FILMING IN PROGRESS.....

I am currently filming my short film. I am considering all the shots which fit perfectly within the film itself as well having to repeat some shots. I took my camera and my actors to a public park recently where I filmed some scenes. Currently I also have some scenes made in school and in nearby surroundings however, I feel I may have to redo them as they haven’t grasped what I envisioned them to be.

Case Study- 2

This short film is very different to my storyline, however, I chose to analyse this as it has the smallest similarity; A mother who is struggling to cope with her children and my character, Anisha struggling with herself.

Casting

I held a casting audition in my school in the theatre workshop. I advertised it on facebook and got fourteen responses. I gave the fourteen girls some lines I hoped to feature in my short film.

From the audition I was cut down to four possible girls I could use for the parts in my film. Eventually I chose the two people who I belive I would benefit more from, as they were both year 13 drama students.
